The Dearne and Dove Canal ran for about 10 miles from the Sheffield and South Yorkshire Navigation, at Swinton, to the Barnsley Canal at Barnsley, England. There were branches to Elsecar and Worsborough. There were 19 locks on the main line, including the stop lock at the junction with the Barnsley Canal, with a further 6 locks on the Elsecar Branch.
It is not open for navigation, although some sections are in water.
