Beyond Oakenshaw Lane, the canal passes beneath twin railway lines where the Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway crossed Oakenshaw Viaduct.
After Oakenshaw railway viaduct, the canal is once again in water.

This part of the canal has been reinstated, with the wash walls being formed with gabions. At the end of this section, the canal is culverted.
