Continuing westwards from Station Road, the canal line has been landscaped as it runs parallel with Wombwell High Street.
Littlefield Bridge, Wombwell, has been removed. Beyond Littlefield Lane, the line of the canal continues as a track through trees and bushes.

Half a mile further on, the canal passed under the railway and Barnsley Road at Aldham. This picture shows the site of Lock 10, the first of the eight locks of the Stairfoot flight, immediately west of Aldham Bridge. The canal curved to the right them left before climbing the other seven locks.
Looking westwards up the Stairfoot Locks. Apart from a few blocks of stone, there is little to show that this was a flight of locks.
